Discover one of the traditional cider cellars of the Basque Country with this half-day guided tour.
On this excursion with transportation to a cider cellar from San Sebastián – Donostia, you will discover the secrets of cider, a drink closely linked to the spectacular Basque Country, its culture, and its famous cuisine.
Dates:
Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Also available for private groups upon request.
Itinerary:
After picking, we will head to the selected cider house, where you will see its apple orchard and traditional cider production facilities, such as the farmhouses, presses, and cellar, where you will taste the house’s natural cider in the traditional Basque way: in bottles and directly from the barrel.
You will also enjoy a traditional cider house menu.
The cellar you visit will be selected based on the majority of the group’s requests and availability, so don’t forget to let us know if you have any preferences when booking.
The available wineries are: Aburuza (Aduna), Gaztañaga (Andoain), Iparragirre (Hernani), Mizpiradi (Andoain), Oiharte (Zerain), Ola (Irun), and Saizar (Usurbil). All of them are part of the Sagardoa Route, the Basque Country Cider Route, which will be our host during the tour.

What to bring

This excursion to a Basque cider house with transportation is available regularly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. For private groups, let us know when you would like to visit and we will confirm the available dates with you.

The meeting point is in San Sebastián. For private groups, hotel pick-up can be arranged.
The standard menu includes cod omelet, fried cod with peppers, grilled steak, cheese with quince jelly and walnuts, bread, and cider. Customized menus and adaptations can be arranged if requested sufficiently in advance. Please contact us.
Discounts are available for children aged 4 to 13 and 14 to 17. In these cases, the menu will be adapted.
