Secrets of the Xurés – Boat tour

Discover the history, nature, and secrets hidden in the Baixa Limia – Serra do Xurés Natural Park with this guided tour with limited places, led by a local guide who is an expert on the Xurés region. Change your perspective aboard an electric, solar-powered boat that will take you closer to the park’s mountain landscapes and archaeology than you have ever seen them before.

This summer, enjoy a different kind of getaway to the landscapes of Xurés by combining this guided boat tour on the history and nature of Xurés with a gastronomic workshop on bread or a special hiking, nature, and ethnography route in the shade.

Dates:

Weekends in August and September.
Saturdays at 6:00 p.m. and Sundays at 10:00 a.m. And upon request.

The guided boat tour lasts an hour and a quarter and is also available in combination with the Mills and Nature hiking route or the Puxedo Bread Gastronomic Workshop. You could do it as a day trip, but we recommend staying at least two days to thoroughly explore the Baixa Limia–Serra do Xurés Natural Park and the municipalities of Bande, Lobios, Muíños, Entrimo, Lobeira, and Calvos de Randín.

“Segredos do Xurés” (Secrets of Xurés) is an activity designed for people like you: explorers, active individuals eager to discover an authentic destination in a more immersive way.

What does this experience include?

→ Boat tour of the As Conchas reservoir to learn about the history and landscapes of the Natural Park from a different perspective. Led by Cristina, Marta, Ana, or Jesús (all professional nature and environment guides who live in Xurés year-round), you will discover the secrets of the reservoir and the towns that surround it.

→ Professional local history and nature guide. Discover Aquis Querquennis and its underwater secrets, imagine how much truth there is behind the legend of Pontepedriñas, identify the birds and other species that can be spotted from the boat… and all this with professional guides who live in the Natural Park all year round.

→ (Optional pack) Bread-making workshop. (Only available in Spanish or Galician).

→ (Optional pack) Mills and Nature Hiking. Explore one of our mountain guides’ favorite hiking trails and discover why this corner of Galicia is part of a huge cross-border Biosphere Reserve. We will do so in the shade of a lush forest that will allow us to reveal some of the secrets hidden from plain sight, in the cool air.

What to bring

Bring comfortable clothing. Don’t forget sunscreen and a hat to protect yourself from the sun and water glare while sailing.

→ €48 per person for the guided hiking tour Molinos y Naturaleza (Muíños e natureza)
→ €52 per person for the bread-making workshop in Puxedo (Ciclo do pan de Puxedo)

Discounts available for families with children under 12 years old.
Easy reservations. Limited spots.

Is it a physically demanding activity?
No. The workshop and tours are easy for children aged 6 and over.

What happens if it rains?
In the event that rain or extreme heat jeopardizes the safety of the activity, a change of date will be offered.

Is it accessible?
No. Unfortunately, although the boat tour allows access for one person in a wheelchair, the pier does not allow easy access from the wheelchair to the boat, and the other activities in the package (both options) are not accessible for people with reduced mobility.

Are pets allowed?
No, only in the case of private groups.
